This month I’ve been focusing on HOUNDSTOOTH PRINTS, churning out posts on a weekly basis. So to wrap it up, I thought it wise to bring to fore the designer that started the trend. I’ll also put up random pictures of fashionistas/celebs that wore this lovely fabric, whether by the designer or not.
Salvatore Ferragamo is the fashion house that fuelled the houndstooth trend last year, thereby creating a madrush for celebs like Anna Dello Russo, Kim Kardarshian, Lady Gaga, Jessica Hart and Theresa Palmer amongst others to try on the deep plunging neckline wrap dress. From available sources, the outfit was first spotted on Bianca Balti, an Italian model for Salvatore Ferragamo Fall 2011. She is seen above wearing the dress with matching clutch purse and pumps. Perhaps, this inspired our “friend” Lady Gaga to go all out in houndstooth on August 2011 as we can see her below sporting the fabric in a head to toe fashion! Did she miss anything?
Ms. Kardarshian was not left out as well. She wore hers for a TV interview on October, 2011.
The picture below shows Miss Gomez in houndstooth too. However, her schoolgirl skirt is by Nuj Novakhett paired with a black translucent Robert Rodriguez long-sleeved top. On Ashley Greene (middle) is an ivory belted dress with a Salvatore Ferragamo clutch. I love the contrast of her red heels which added some “spark” to her looks. Theresa Palmer adorned herself with the Ferragamo houndstooth dress. It’s a replica of what Bianca Balti wore; she however opted for black heels and a silver clutch bag.
Others who rocked the houndstooth dress under the period in review were: Fan Bing Bing (3rd from the left) who had on her black platform heels and a matching sling bag; Jessica Hart: who accessoried with a statement choker, black clutch and a Ferragamo heels; and Anna Dello Russo (2nd from right) chose to pair a fancy feathered hat, two-tone heels and a Ferragamo clutch with her houndstooth wrap dress.
On a final note ladies, I think it’s high time to try out some HOUNDSTOOTH dress or accessory. The fabric suits ladies of all ages. From Anna Dello Russo, 49 to Selena Gomez, 19, these ladies tried it on and they looked fab! So why can’t we rock it too? Is there any excuse for not trying this lovely duotone fabric on?
It’s another weekend, have fun (if you can)!
