If you have been following my reviews on NYFW FALL 2012, you will agree with me that some trends, patterns and styles were repeated in LFW FALL 2012. Without much ado, today, I’ll briefly be looking at designers like Antonio Berardi, Burberry Prorsum, Erdem, Giles Deacon, Mary Katrantzou, Michael van der Ham and Stella McCartney.
This designer brought the fresh concept of “geometry” to his Fall Collection. From peplum outfits to pleated ones, Antonio Berardi shows his inimitable craft at designing lovely pieces. Also on display were monochromes and geometrically-patterned colour-blocked dresses. One of a kind, if you ask me!
Floral prints outfits stood out at Erdem’s Fall Collection at LFW 2012. The Canadian-Turkish designer caught our attention with the inventive mix of lace and latex. If his earlier Collections didn’t put Erdem on the fashion world map, this Fall 2012 just did!
For a designer known for his “playful designs”, Giles Deacon’s showing at LFW 2012 didn’t point otherwise. He “played” with masculine tux coats, hi-low dresses, chic pants and generally a gray array of glamourous outfits. Having won British Fashion Awards for “Best New Designer”, 2004, you don’t expect any less from Giles Deacon’s fellowship with creativity.
Still celebrating her award as the “Emerging Talent (Womenswear)”, 2011 – British Fashion Awards, Greek born, London-based designer, Mary Katrantzou “stormed” LFW 2012 runway with bouncy dresses, clashes of esoteric prints and chiffon in hues of red, yellow, green and blue.
MICHAEL van der HAM
Thoughtfully created pieces with strip of fabrics in lace, wool, jacquard, organza and crushed prints told the story of Michael van der Ham‘s Fall Collection. Again, this designer showed that he is not prepared to remain backward in the area of passionate creativity.
Lace dresses stood Stella McCartney out in a refreshingly manner! Apart from pitching established models (like Kate Moss, Alexa Chung, Amber Valletta, etc) against each other, her monochromatic evening dresses also caught the attention of fashion enthusiasts, trendspotters and buyers at LFW FALL 2012! Ms. McCartney won “Red Carpet Award” at the British Fashion Awards, 2011.
